It is with great sadness that I share that dear O'Reilly passed away in early May, at 15.5 years old. Rest in peace, Bobalu.

This web page is a tribute to an incredible Golden Retriever.  I first met O'Reilly when he was about 8 weeks old. His owners Debbie and Mike Claussen had taken him for an outing in 1991, and I happened to be at the same park.  This cute little guy was in his crate in the back of Debbie and Mike's van, and I couldn't help but fall in love with this blonde fluff ball with an impish look on his face! You could just see that this dog was going places!  I watched O'Reilly as he matured and grew into an outstanding representation of the breed.  He was shown to his Championship and Show Dog Hall of Fame by Laurie Jordan-Fenner, where he gained the nickname "Bobalou". That nicknamed morphed into "Bob", which is what most of us call him!  Bob has had an outstanding career, and I feel so lucky to have been able to use him in my breeding program in 1996 to Shalimar Dolce's Burning Love CD . From that beautiful litter, we were honored with Leia,  CH Dolce's Return Of The Jedi, who helped us to build a solid breeding program which we are terribly proud of.

A couple of years ago we were over at Debbie's house, and Bob, 11 years old at the time, came running out the front door to the front yard with a toy nearly as big as he is! My husband and I laughed all the way home, and spent days with that picture in our minds. Bob will be 14 this year, and I could think of no better birthday present than this tribute.
